 Abstract.

The relationships between Paleobotany and Palynology are established and their more important applications are shown. It is demonstrated that most of the plant fossils has been disregarded as good bio - and chronostatigraphic indicators; the reasons for such discrimination are analized. At the same time. it is shown that the palynological studies have gained more importance because ol their applications to economic geology. On the other hand, it is suggested that paratoxonomy should not be disregarded from Palaentology and furthermore, that parataxonomic systems should be applied to Palaebotany and Palynology. The usefulness of morphological features in plant fossils for taxonomic, chronostratigraphic, palaeoclimatic, palaeoecologic and paleogegraphic determinations, as well as in some instances, to interpret the origin of rocks and also the origin of sorne natural resources. The importance of both palaeobotanic and palaeopalinological studies in the interpretation of plants evolution from Precambian and the deductions of palaeoclimatic and palaeocologic conditions is emphasized. Finally, it is shown the value of the employement of new methods of fossils observation and computerization data in taxonomic obiectives.
