Abstract

The electrical resistivity of the surface layer is a parameter which affects the transmission frequencies or the electrical energy and all the electromagnetic signals. This fact is important when large distances are involved.

Resistivity of the earth materials varies, even locally, in a very wide range of values, Evry try to contour such property in a very large scale must consider a shallow subsoil layer whose resistivity must be necessarily less heterogeneous.

While we do not have enough field measurements in the whole national territory or these were not properly compelled, no resistivity map of the Mexican Republic could be made. For now the best is to zone regionally with resistivity ranges as Keller and Frischknecht (1966).
