Abstract

A new data for the explanation in the relation between the andesitic volcanism zone (Mexican Volcanic Belt) and the Mesoamerican trench in the Mexican Continent is presented.

It is included the subduction velocities of the Cocos Plate below the American and Caribe Plates in eleven profiles calculated with the equations given by Morgan (1968); also it is included the underthrusting angles in eight of the mentionated profiles, estimated with a model developed by Hatherton and Dickinson (1969).
