Abstract

The mountain structure located south of Banderas Bay consists of a series of benched mountain ranges, with an increasing altitude of up to approximately 2000 m. The structure of the orographic zone is made up of blocks of different altitudes and orders. Three principal blocks were distinguished, which contain a large number of others of second and third order (these were differentiated in 12 categories). The morphological features of the mourrtainous topography and the coast line indicate the orogenic activity during the neotectonic stage, as well as the arrangement of the principal fractures.
